Another Summer Wrapped Up!

What a summer! Seven students spent it in spinlab: Kylie, Thomas, Alexandra, Sam, Elijah, Huy, and David.

Four of our students — Thomas, Alexandra, Sam, and David — were supported by William & Mary’s Charles Center undergraduate research funding.

We also celebrated the end of the summer with our traditional liquid nitrogen ice cream — check out this year’s flavor lineup, including a recurring pre-workout theme.

Spinlab was lucky to host several wonderful visitors this summer: Dr. Xylar Asay-Davis (Argonne National Laboratory), Prof. Leif Schröder (German Cancer Research Center / University of Heidelberg), and Prof. Jocelyn Alcántara-García (University of Delaware).

We also got to spend a few days with a Magritek Spinsolve benchtop NMR spectrometer as a demo unit, testing T2 relaxation times across a range of samples to see how benchtop NMR could benefit our department.

It was a fantastic summer all around — good work, team! Here’s looking forward to Fall 2026!
